As a California native - I get it. I understand why you want to leave, especially when you have seen your home state become a train wreck. Like you, I was a little skeptical about living in Idaho, but when living is affordable, real estate prices are reasonable, the homeless population is minimal, people are friendly, there is really low crime, no traffic...it all just made sense to move here.
And moving to Idaho in 2008 was the BEST decision I ever made! I know you will love it too. Give Idaho a chance. Come visit and let me personally show you around, put you up in an Air BnB, buy you dinner, and let you discover for yourself why so many others just like you now call Idaho home.
